Abe Lederman
President  and CEO
 


Abe has 25 years of experience in computer software engineering. He began his career with Hewlett Packard and was then recruited to become a founding member of Verity, a startup pioneer in the field of search engine technology. In 1994, Abe left Verity and later founded Innovative Web Applications (IWA), a software consulting firm primarily serving Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). While consulting with LANL and the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), Abe came to realize the enormous potential for federated search technology to accelerate the diffusion of knowledge. He founded Deep Web Technologies in 2002. Abe holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

David Irwin

David brings to Deep Web Technologies over 20 years of software development management with various established and startup software technology companies. Prior to Deep Web he owned a software development consulting practice assisting startups with their software engineering leadership and process issues. David also held executive engineering positions at Align Technologies, advancing web based integration efforts with orthodontists and dentists into a medical device manufacturing process. At AutoTradecenter.com David championed software engineering activities to institute rapid incremental development methods. Other leadership roles included several positions at Oracle Corporation in Public Sector Application Development and Platform and Alliance engineering at Logica Pty Ltd, a large turnkey systems consulting company.

Brian Despain
Vice President of Professional Services
 

Brian has spent the last 12 years working in early stage high-tech startups. He co-founded Brave New Worlds in 1996, an open source e-commerce software startup based in Pasadena, California. Brian led the company as CEO until the sale of the company to VA Software in 2000. He oversaw all aspects of the company, including product development of the award winning Xao e-commerce suite. After the acquisition, Brian became managing director of the e-commerce professional services practice at VA Software. He has spent the last 5 years working on various projects at his early stage incubator, Thalasar Ventures.
